Minimal house on the slope

AJ Residence is a contemporary minimal villa in Vilnius, Lithuania, designed as a single-storey U-shaped composition that follows the gentle slope of the site.

The house is organised around a private landscaped courtyard, creating a close relationship between architecture, garden and everyday living. Large glazed openings connect the interior spaces with the courtyard and surrounding greenery, while the low horizontal profile allows the building to sit quietly within the landscape.

The architectural expression is deliberately restrained. Clean lines, precise proportions and a limited palette of light surfaces and darker stone elements give the villa a calm and timeless character.

The U-shaped plan also provides a clear balance between openness and privacy, framing views toward the garden while creating protected outdoor spaces at the heart of the house.
