Makowski Groń is a residence sculpted by the dramatic mountain landscape. A strong, geometric form cuts into the slope, anchoring the house firmly to the terrain and creating a powerful architectural silhouette. Designed as an interplay of mass, light, and topography, the project embraces the raw energy of its surroundings while offering calm, sheltered spaces within. The home is situated on a secluded plot in the mountains of Deep Creek Lake with stunning waterfront views. The space was designed with a modern aesthetic that combines contemporary styles with more traditional materials that tie in the surrounding elements. An open-plan living area allows for plenty of natural light and an unobstructed view of breathtaking mountain views. Inside, the spaces are designed to maximize comfort and convenience, while outside, the landscape was designed to provide a private, tranquil setting. Caption More

The main consideration of the project was its location, this regarding to its peculiar topography and its climatic context. Located in the upper area of ​​the mountain region of Heredia, the climate is characterized by an almost constant permanence of rain throughout the year. This creates an environment of high humidity, combined with strong gusts of wind and a low relative temperature. The main focus of the project was to blend into the extensive forest, harmonizing with the surrounding landscape and mountains. This is why it is chosen to raise the house on stilts, to maintain as much vegetation as possible. More

Valtournenche, at 1500 meters above sea level, is famous for its skiing facilities that connect to Cervinia. The typical local house is very low, extremely small in size, completely covered in wood and with warm and feeble lightings. Externally it is possible to find the typical combination of gray stone and wood, of which the local vernacular architecture "rascard" is an exemplary case. The project, instead of enclosing itself in a wooden cocoon, brings into the interior this strong relationship of splitted stone and honey wood. The essence of the architecture takes cues from the rural agricultural aesthetic on one end of the spectrum and contemporary living on the other end. The site is located on the southern side of the Izerskie Mountains, just above the Wojcieszyce village in the Jeleniogórska valley. The sloping and south facing site offers excellent exposure to the natural lighting of the sun as well as magnificent views, what makes it a perfect location for the owner’s dream holiday house. The Park City Residence is a small mountain cabin located adjacent to the historic downtown area of Park City Utah. Working within the restrictive zoning ordinance provided by the city, the Park City Residence resembles a traditional mountain cabin. The design utilizes a sloped roof and traditional exterior form, while black wood siding and a metal roof reference the aging barns seen in the landscape of Utah.The interior however, is a contemporary intervention in contrast with the exterior.
