In response to the global pandemic, which has significantly reshaped the work environment, RTL is developing a new workplace strategy and has entrusted Evolution Design with the master planning of its headquarters and broadcasting center in the renowned Rheinhallen in Cologne-Deutz. A Tribute to Tea, Tradition, and Innovation – For the 200th anniversary of the long-established and Frankfurt-based company Ronnefeldt, we developed a new design concept that combines a passion for the craft of tea with modern work environments and celebrates the history of Ronnefeldt. An architectural tea ceremony where the boundary between physical space and the timeless tradition of tea disappears. The new, signet-like administration building of ALDI Einkauf SE & Co. oHG will provide workspace for up to 2,000 employees. In the former laboratory area of the Gelsenkirchen Science Parc was implemented a new coworking space (New Work Lab) for start-ups and commuters from technology-oriented industries. In addition to 27 technically full equipped workplaces, there are retreat areas and communication zones which increase the quality of stay and create a great variety in the working process. In special areas such as the virtual reality room or the conference room, technologies of the future can be used and tested as part of a co-working study. A real estate company’s corporate headquarters, located at the city’s highest traffic entrance, brings clarity and conciseness and acts as a new landmark to a transitioning industrial area within an emerging district. The projects main ambition was to create an authentic example of “Built Identity” within the context of a seven-story building, incorporating the client’s logo icon throughout the building elevation.
