De Jakoba
De Jakoba brings new energy to the Overhoeks neighbourhood in Amsterdam-Noord. In 'Manhattan at the IJ', as the new city district which fronts the IJ harbour opposite Central Station is also referred to, De Jakoba introduces one of two new social housing complexes. Making use of form and smart building methods, we realised a powerful and qualitative building within budget for any Dutch social housing development, and a recognisable place that people are proud to live in and want to care for.

De Ceuvel
De Ceuvel is a former shipyard in the docks of Buiksloterham Amsterdam. Because of the economic crisis, the polluted and abandoned shipyard was not remediated or further developed, but the City of Amsterdam and Noordwaarts made the area available for ten years for the most innovative plan.
The winning plan, 'Zuiverend Park De Ceuvel' by DELVA, Space&Matter and Studio Valkenier, proposed an organically growing incubator. Abandoned houseboats that have been restored and reused as temporary accommodation for innovative businesses are central to the design. Around them lies an ingenious green park that purifies the soil and prepares it for future redevelopment.

skatepark NOORD
Three years after the closing om the skatepark on the NDSM Wharf, Amsterdam Noord found a new location for it’s indoor skatepark. This time it’s on the Hamerstraatgebied, situated on the north side of the IJ.The renovated hall at the Aambeeldstraat offers 1400m2 space for skate activities, including recreation and lessons on every level. Besides, there is a 150m2 catering facility with a double function as a ‘canteen’ and external hospitality.This newly created hospitality unit protrudes two meters from the original façade. The Glass entrance façade functions as an intermediary between the skatepark and the outside space. The timber frame construction of the façade is cladded with horizontal Fraké slats. Brabantse Delta Water Authority
The building for the District Water Board is situated on the monumental historic estate Bouvigne with castle, gate building and chapel in Breda. The design in which new and old meet each other shows an ensemble of conservation and innovation. All parts of the program, offices, laboratories, meeting rooms and restaurant are incorporated in the design in an effective gesture.
The representative and timeless modular office building inserts itself in a natural, appropriate and monumental way in the landscape and divides the estate in two green landscape rooms.
