Weekend House
The project of the house in Colares stared with a topographical research in mind, finding the most dramatic cliff between Cascais and Cabo da Roca, for a weekend house, on the west coast of Portugal, at the closest point to the Americas on European land.
The site is located in the Parque Natural de Sintra-Cascais, just between the famous Lighthouse of Cabo da Roca and the nearby Santuário da Peninha, it is part of a territory which is constellated by windmills and local production of wine.

JO&JOE Paris Gentilly
JO&JOE Paris Gentilly is the second JO&JOE open house from PENSON’s portfolio and is the world’s first BBCA low-carbon hotel. It is a place that brings genuine experiences to its guests – so much so – the hotel was fully booked on its first opening month in April 2019.
PENSON created the seven-floor, 485-bed hotel as a hybrid – it meets somewhere between an open house, a hotel, and a hostel. This model is unlike anything the sector has seen to date.
In September 2020, JO&JOE Paris Gentilly was awarded the Best Hotel & Tourism Resort at the 2020 MIPIM Awards - specifically for its Open House design and Street Art concept by PENSON.

Open House Rome and Turin is part of the Open House Worlwide network, an international organization with headquarter in London, where the project took shape in 1992.
Open House is an annual event that takes place during a weekend, celebrating design and architecture in various cities, offering the opportunity to learn about new architectures and their designers.

CASA Y
Set on the hills just outside the city of Turin CASA Y is a family house designed for a professional couple with 3 children. Clients’ needs were very large spaces devoted to family life and a low-impact energy and house. Tucked into the hillside, this discreet volume consists in the juxtaposition of two simple parallelepipeds, one in fair- faced concrete and the other in glass covered with cor-ten steel.
Concrete and cor-ten are a stylistic choice and a functional one, the answer to the client’s need of ease of maintenance and long-term durability.
