Located in Espai Serrahima, a hub for artistic and cultural companies, this former industrial building has been renovated to serve as a contemporary workspace. The building was originally a textile factory, with a concrete-and-steel addition constructed in the 1970s, giving the complex an eclectic character within Barcelona. Over the years, the space was repeatedly transformed, accommodating uses ranging from parking and warehousing to a culinary research center before its conversion into office space. The new, signet-like administration building of ALDI Einkauf SE & Co. oHG will provide workspace for up to 2,000 employees. escapefromsofa designed the Istanbul office of ABC, one of Türkiye's longest-established detergent companies, in Beykoz in 2019. In this single-storey, 1,000 m² workspace, making the most of daylight was the main driver of the plan. The plan is linear. In the rectangular floor, open workstations sit at the core, with executive offices and meeting rooms set in two parallel wings around them, each defined by glass. Modular Nurus furniture in the workstations and executive offices lets the layout adapt as the company's needs change.
