Kings Cross Station, Redevelopment

Europe’s largest construction project improves connectivity across London for an estimated 200 million people a year.   The 41-station Crossrail project helps to maintain London’s position as a global city by improving urban connectivity and enabling commercial growth. The Bergen Light Rail is the first public transport system in Norway to utilise inclusive design at all levels, making the city accessible for everyone.   Bergen, on the west coast of Norway, is the country’s second largest city. The Bybanen Light Rail project constitutes the major component of the city’s 20 year investment programme to develop its public transport infrastructure and create a more sustainable network.   The scheme comprises a 7.2km extension to the existing railway line connecting Lagunen to Bergen Airport. The award-winning redevelopment of St Pancras International has transformed it in to an iconic gateway to Europe.   The selection of the Grade 1 listed St Pancras railway station as the new terminus for Eurostar required a highly complex programme of expansion, modernisation and restoration.   To accommodate the sleek new trains, the station was doubled in length; the concourses being extended well beyond the intricate structure of the listed Barlow Shed roof. Louvre Abu Dhabi

Pritzker-prize winning architect Jean Nouvel sought inspiration for the concept of Louvre Abu Dhabi in traditional Arabic architectural culture, and designed Louvre Abu Dhabi as a ‘museum city’ in the sea. Its contrasting series of white buildings take inspiration from the medina and low-lying Arab settlements. In total, 55 individual but connected buildings, including 26 galleries, make up this museum city. The façades of the buildings are made up of 3,900 panels of ultra-high performance fibre concrete (UHPC).
