The new Film & Media Centre provides a dynamic hub for the University for the Creative Arts.
Located at the university’s Farnham campus, the 1,000m² building accommodates students studying performing arts, film studies and music composition & technology, with a multitude of cutting-edge technological equipment.
Facilities include a black box film studio, a 260-seat lecture theatre, performance spaces and an acoustically sealed recording studio featuring a live room, dubbing theatre and control room.
The scheme has been designed to offer a high degree of flexibility - the film studio can be reconfigured for use as a public performance auditorium and the lecture theatre can be transformed into exhibition, rehearsal and seminar spaces, which are adaptable for use by the local community.
The landscape strategy maximises the use of the site with external spaces designed for outside teaching, performance and social activities.
The project complements our long-standing relationship and portfolio of work with the university and represents the next stage in their campus-wide masterplan.
