Located at the bustling mall of Select Citywalk, New Delhi, Celona sits at its second floor enjoying the golden light in the evening. Celona is a pizzeria and bar designed by Poulomi and Jatin of Design Ethics Studio. The duo was tasked by a hospitality group to envisage a design that seamlessly blends comfort and crafted aesthetics. This project by MAP'D STUDIOS is a  charming pizzeria, rooted in Italian tradition, features a unique and inviting interior design. The walls are adorned with wooden spoons arranged to create an intricate map, highlighting the pizzeria's deep connection to Italy. Additionally, wooden crates are strategically placed throughout the space, symbolizing the fresh products used in their authentic recipes. The restaurant is located in via Bellezia 24, between Piazza della Repubblica and piazza Emanuele Filiberto, where the largest open market in Europe is held. The building that houses the restaurant is part of the third Baroque extension of the historic district of Porta Palazzo, which faithfully reproduced the Juvarrian design of the north-west part throughout the 18th century. Before designing the pizza spot, we dug deep into the pizza culture, background history, and the atmosphere that adequately suits this dish. Eventually, we found the key component - Italian simplicity that predisposes you to rest and enjoy your delightful meal. Small-sized white tile is a purely Mediterranean element, equipped with some wood elements; it helps recreate an Italian country-style osteria.
