FF House

The house is located on a gated community in Zapopan, México. The main entrance is accessible through a roundabout with an old laurel. The project was developed in a short period of time; however the construction lasted a little longer than expected. The approved design did not suffer any changes because the owners bet on the original idea. The formal concept aims to display simple and lightweight items that observed from the outside seems to float on a wooden base. From inside the bodies give the feeling of being free and unsupported. The location of the areas is generated from a “T” volume, with one elongated arm which is planted in the ground forming two generous voids, the first on the main entrance and the second on the inside. The... More

Cobogó House

The light of the abundant tropical Sun falls on the white volume of the top floor of the house, penetrating the holes of the hollowed elements and covering the floor of the interior space. Thus, the design of spatialized lace is formed from the shadows and solar rays. The effect is multiplied throughout the ambient, making a construction from the light itself. Throughout the days, throughout the months, the hollowed-out elements take on different forms with the incidence of the sun; at night, this effect once again is transformed; in a continuous process of metamorphosis, its form changes from the light. The soft volumetric geometry of the hollowed-out elements comprising the walls is a complex construction, made with infinite curved li... More

THE BLACK HOUSE

The black house was born by the request of a young couple, brought to us by another of our projects "The Waterfall House", which gave us the challenge of improving what we had done at that moment, taking advantage of the freedom they gave us during the design. This single house is located in a closed neighborhood, 30km. away from Buenos Aires. The lot, 20 meters wide and 50 meters length with 3 meter of lateral retreats, has amazing views to the lake we could not let aside. The analysis of the lot showed us the advantages and disadvantages we should take into account along the entire design process. The best views to the lake were at the back of the lot, while the best orientation was at the front. The surrounding houses and the wide... More

Villa Piano Tavola

To be more precise it is a family House for holiday in the Province of Catania (You can find in attachment some shots of the project). It is a new construction, characterized by two levels, the basement, or sleeping area with a private garden courtyard and ground floor or the living area, overlooking the basement where the pool is placed. The program has favored the functional and organic sides of visual relationships with the external space. The ground floor becomes a podium overlooking the outdoor space around the pool, and thanks to large windows it amplifies the external space, extending it visually inside the house. During summer, when the weather allows to fully open the external frames, the living area becomes part of the solarium... More

Extensión de una casa en Punta Hermosa

Known internationally as the beach was formed where the world champion of surfboard, the Peruvian Sofía Mulanovich, Punta Hermosa is one of the most traditional resorts South of the city of Lima. Their spontaneous and unplanned, growth printed you over time a unique urban image characterised by its diversity of types and architectural styles. In this context, was asked to construct the extension of an old house built facing the sea on the northern beach of the Spa. The expansion includes a master bedroom with walk in closet and bathroom themselves, on the second floor, and a games pool, a roofed terrace and pool area, in the first, all with a breathtaking view to the horizon marine environments. Club House in Cerro Colorado beach

The project consists of a small piece of architecture, a Club House located in the center of a condominium in a deserted beach, eighty miles south of Lima. The condominium has been developed on a large flat surface of sand naturally divided in two by a small reddish rocky hill which gives name to the site. This condition created a unique geographical space, an area of wilderness within the complex on which the pavilion was situated. The pavilion consists of the meeting place of the inhabitants and guests and has basic beach services: terrace, swimming pool and changing rooms, a small bar for drinks and a barbecue area. The solution seeks to strike balance between pure and simple geometry and the wonderful natural landscape of t... More

Seaside Residence

An existing non-descript structure, perched above the crest of the dune between the ocean and bay, was thoroughly transformed. We utilized clearly defined volumes, simple, durable, yet elegant materials and details instilling a strong connection between the indoors and out. An infinity edge pool was placed between the house and bay, bridging the two bodies of water, and screening the street. The public spaces were located on the upper floor, extending out onto a series of decks. A wooden cantilevered trellis extends through the house from ocean to bay. The lower floor is separated into guest and owner spaces. The master bath extends out onto a private, louvered deck, allowing ocean and bay breezes while maintaining privacy. Highly eff... More

Villa Siga Siga, Greece

Villa Siga Siga is a private villa close to a mountaintop nearby the Greek coastline. The house has a wide view over the landscape. The facades are clad with stones that are found on the premises. Also in the interior some of the walls are clad with this natural stone. The rest of the walls are plastered white. In the main living room there is a vide that leads to the roof terrace. The stair to the vide is made of stainless steel with Oak wood steps. Also the balustrade of the vide is constructed out of stainless steel. Residence Seaquarium Curacao.

This house lies on the south coast of Curaçao and follows the contours of the coastline. The different levels in the house are based on the existing height of the rocks. This feature brings an extra dynamic to the design. The client wanted a tropical Caribbean house with high open roofs and low galleries. These can be found in the building style and atmosphere of the house where the different components are linked to each other. The roofs are finished in Canadian wood shingles. The roof extensions on the south side ensure the house is protected from the sun, and natural ventilation is optimal. This makes for a pleasant environment. There is also a reverse osmosis system that converts seawater into fresh water for the swimming pool. More

HEAD 1816

The clients required a four bedroom home for their young family, the design of which had to encapsulate all the qualities of luxury open-plan living while still providing a homely environment. The practicalities of the site – steepness and town planning restrictions – were key initial drivers in determining the parameters available. The narrow proportion of the property also necessitated the careful consideration of privacy and bedroom accommodation, which is set back from the street or suitably screened. Effort was put into capitalising on views to the rear onto Lions Head as well as across Sea Point and the Atlantic Seaboard. There is a clear vertical distinction between the living and bedroom accommodation. With young children, the... More

SILVERHURST

VIVID Architects prepared the initial concept design for this home, a contemporary reboot of the more classical architectural styles. SAOTA - Stefan Antoni Olmesdahl Truen Architects and ANTONI ASSOCIATES were then appointed to refine & develop the design and oversee the project to completion. The facade is Georgian inspired but the modern aspect of the look is driven by a dynamic of recessed and projecting panels and cubes that create courtyards and terraces that articulate and add interest to what is a highly organised shell. The interiors, by ANTONI ASSOCIATES, are equally sculpted. Entering the house, a large light-filled entrance hall divides the two ground-floor wings which consist of a series of living spaces that open out to a p... More

Residence in dionyssos

• The construction began on June 2008 and finished on December 2009 • It is a main residence • It is located at Dionysos, a wonderful, full of pine trees suburb of Athens - Greece The main architectural thought was to design a modern house with straight lines and big openings to a flat garden. This enables the natural light to travel through every space of the house, reducing the amount of energy needed to illuminate the house. Furthermore the house was designed and built according to ‘’green’’ architectural choices of materials used, such as: • Building’s orientation: glass openings facing south • facade insulation system • aluminium windows with thermal – break system • double glass windows: external 6mm energy glass, 14mm gap... Stunning Scottsdale Retreat

Luke Denny, owner of Alpentile, passionately creates beautiful pools and spas with unique glass tile products like, in the case of this stunning retreat, Oceanside Glasstile. The technical requirements for installing glass tile in submerged applications are extensive, especially in the extreme temperatures of the Arizona desert. His process is time intensive as he eliminates risk of failure down the road - most of the essential work in installing these luxurious features is truly beneath the surface. He painstakingly approaches the details of the design with the same attention as his interior work - this is one thing that sets his work apart from the rest. On this project, a vacation home / golf retreat for the client, the backyard spac... More

CyD House

The project is a 470 m² summer home in the Los Cóndores Country Club of Chaclacayo, north of Lima. The site measures approximately 2500 m², presenting an irregular geometry and steep inclines, the most dramatic of which is a land depression rife with obsolete cisterns. To best reintegrate the unoccupied area of the lot –its main asset– we pushed the house up against the adjacent hill's steepest front in order consolidate the spaces before and below its line of vision. Using a very strong symmetry, the house’s shape consists of two V-shaped wings that adjust to the terrain’s perimeter, maximizing the flat garden area in the front. The entrance is at the far left. A lengthwise, partly-covered gallery runs along the house, integrating all... More
