Slide House
Constrained by the long narrow site sandwiched between neighbouring properties, the design distills into the shifts of 3 volumes to shape light entering the spaces of this dwelling.

Deprived of any side elevations to allow openings, the 3 cubes slides between the party walls to allow daylight into the middle of the house. Here, a double volume atrium space ensures light reaches the lower parts of the house from the skylights above. Staircases are located beneath the skylights on both sides of the atrium while a feature bookshelf on level 2 fronts one face of the atrium. House on Tatarka Hill, Kyiv, Ukraine
The legend says Kyiv is built on seven hills. One of them is Tatarka, a historic neighborhood in Kyiv downtown. The plot for a family house is located on this hill, in a valley resembling an amphitheater. These landscape features were used to create a living environment. The main volume is located so as to achieve the best view over the territory. It is elevated and linked to whole plot along its perimeter resulting in an interesting walking scenario around the territory and a view over the city. The steep slopes are cut in some places rationalizing the land use and providing a space for a lounge zone with barbecue.
