Sûreté du Québec Police Station, Waterloo
Located on a sloping site between an industrial district and a residential neighborhood, the new Sûreté du Québec police station in Waterloo is conceived as a compact, specialized civic building whose roof functions as a fifth elevation. The program brings together administrative areas, officer services, investigation spaces, and a detention sector, each requiring strict security, confidentiality, and acoustic separation. The building settles into the topography with a restrained street facade while opening toward the landscape.
Developed by Cimaise Architecture and STGM in consortium, the design introduces an inclined roof with a folded geometry inspired by the mountain chains of Québec’s Eastern Townships... More

10 commercial buildings using rainwater harvesting systems to help meet water requirements
A sustainable approach to building design is increasingly part and parcel of architectural practice. The construction of buildings can impact negatively on the environment: using raw materials, generating waste, and emitting carbon. To mitigate this, a number of green building standards and rating systems have been developed, for example, BREEAM, LEED, and DGNB. As technology, innovation, and ecological expertise progress, today’s standards are continually tested, with buildings perceived as “more dynamic and interactive structures [including] the concepts of living, regenerative, restorative, and adaptive buildings.” The goal of achieving net zero carbon emissions through a building’s design is often discussed and h... Stone Fountain
Complying with the practical need of retaining stormwater on site, this stone fountain is conceived to reveal the presence of the vein of gravel - lying just underneath the site - brought to Milan 12’000 years ago by the melting glaciers, at the end of the last Ice Age. Designed as a crossover between lotus gardens and Japanese rock gardens, the concave surface of each circular stone retains a tiny layer of rainwater, both showing the falling reaindrops as well as reflecting light, as mirrors, when the rain stops. Railway Equipment Industry for Plasser India
Project Type: Railway Equipment Manufacturing Facility
Brief of the Project: Locomotive manufacturing facility planned to cater to three assembly lines and air conditioning designed on the concept of radiant and geothermal cooling. The green spine is designed with an oxygen regenerated plant to purify the air from process area.
Area: 5,00,000 sq ft
There can be no doubt, that the driver for prosperity and large scale economic growth and a sustainable future will be industry.
While there is a lot of exciting work being carried out in the service industry sector, especially IT and ITES, there is a large scope of improvement and growth in the design environment for the manufacturing industry.
At ANA, we have tried to use t... More

DRENING
DRENING is a modular element for the creation of high capability dispersion and accumulation chambers. The underground collectors for rainwater drainage and reuse prevent flooding and expand underground infrastructure in areas without sewerage systems. Drening is also suitable for creation of basins in limited space of households’ yards.Drening basin calculation is our tool designed to help pre-calculation of underground basins for water storage.Solutions that Drening provides are:- Rainwater dispersion,- Household rainwater harvesting,- Irrigation of public parks,- Drainage and phytoremediation,- Road works water drainage.Learn moreDreningDrening projectsWater solutionsHydraulic invariance: the need to disperse/laminate rainwater...
