The Green Oaks Biological Research Station, situated in a forest in rural Illinois belonging to Knox College, builds on existing facilities to provide a platform for research, study, instruction and living in the heart of the College's forestry research habitat.  Subtle in its simplicity, the project uses an X-shaped plan to accommodate and also separate the various uses, responding to adjacent spaces, structures and landscapes while also referencing the X in the school's name.  Drawing on numerous architectural threads, the building takes inspiration from sources as diverse as the Jeffersonian University of Virginia campus and the iconic red barns of rural Illinois. asap/ adam sokol architecture practice asap/ adam sokol... osch Campus II In 2018, we were asked by the leading German designer Robert Bosch Kft. to design the concept for the new Bosch Campus II headquarters of the Bosch representative office in Hungary, which is planned on a 60 000 m2 site. The German management decided to modernize the existing and leased buildings and create a new research development center for nearly 1800 engineers. All this is made necessary by the large-scale changes in the automotive industry. The Max Delbrück Centre for Molecular Medicine (MDC) as well as the Leibniz Institute for Molecular Pharmacology (FMP) have jointly developed the new Institute for Medical Genome Research on the edge of the Berlin-Buch campus, thus creating an ultra-modern and competitive research location.The entrance hall impresses everyone with its openness over the entire height of the building; it is generously flooded with daylight, with its main focus of attention being a spiral staircase which reaches all floors. To improve laboratory safety on campus, Wayne State University — a nationally recognized metropolitan research institution located in Midtown Detroit — required a renovation and expansion of its A. Paul Schaap Chemistry Building.  During the first phase of the renovation, modern laboratories and dedicated student spaces were incorporated into the north side of the building to encourage students to leave laboratories during breaks.  To create an open environment, windows between the labs and student spaces where also added to the space.  All of the existing fume hoods on the first and second floors were removed and replaced with new fume hoods, exhaust connections for glove box work and snorkel locations, which represents a fo... The new building for the DZNE, where the similarities and differences of various brain diseases are studied, is located on the southern edge of University Hospital’s Venusberg Campus in Bonn. With a usable floor area of approximately 16,000 square meters, the DZNE provides optimal scientific conditions for an international team of more than 500 employees and visiting researchers.The building volume is divided into three distinctive, organically shaped individual buildings. The Food Biotechnology Research Center project comes from a Burgos University architectural competition in 2010, as an extension of the existing R&D&i building. The competition proposed a building symmetrical to the one in which it was necessary to complete a program of laboratories and workspaces with an independent use of the building that had to be expanded. With this initial approach, the boundary between the University Campus and the old train tracks, which were in the process of being transformed into a Railway Boulevard, was not solved. The Media Laboratory was formed in 1980 out of the work of MIT’s Architectural Machine Group and was built upon the seminal work of the faculty, which included a variety of research disciplines including cognition, learning, music, graphic design, video and holography.
