The Base Saphanmai

Naturally, human and nature both have various conflict within themselves and towards each other. It may be viewed negatively, however, within the confrontation, there is beauty more than meets the eyes. Therefore, the word “irony” is a main part of the conceptual design for Base Saphanmai. It is a method to architecturally bring excitement beyond expectation, while still maintaining its overall aesthetic. The key aesthetic element in the project was inspired from the concept of “Feminism”. Once the gentleness is explored, there is more value than meets the eyes. Similar to the idea a tattooed lady in a dress, it is the contradiction that is attractive and brings out the urge to explore.   When designing th... More

Sutherland Road

Sutherland Road is a new development in Walthamstow, east London, which combines residential, medical and landscape design. The aesthetic of the scheme takes its cue from the industrial setting, and is robust and simple. A combination of steeply pitched and saw-toothed roofs, combined with brick and red corrugated metal cladding,... More

Salters Acres

Salters Acres is a development of 3 detached houses on Stockbridge Road in Winchester. The 3 houses were conceived in response to the suburban setting of the site on the edge of Winchester; the character of the area is quite mixed so we set out to establish a design that would feel comfortable within its setting without overtly replicating one of the various architectural styles in the vicinity. The simple, recognisable pitched roof form and the prominent chimneys reference the Victorian vernacular of many of the residential areas of the city, whilst the yellow brick, the contemporary detailing and the large windows gives the development a more distinctive and modern character. The layout creates an active street scene with openings and... More
