Apartment tower facade designed by ACDF Architecture evokes memories of Montreal’s Victorian homes
“Link” is a 19-story contemporary apartment tower in the Shaughnessy Village neighborhood of Montreal, Quebec. Designed by Canadian architectural firm ACDF Architecture, Link meets a growing demand for student housing, while its architecture celebrates the built heritage of its location. Link’s design incorporates the existing facades of three Victorian dwellings and creates a dialogue with the adjacent mid-century concrete buildings. The tower’s facade evokes memories of Montreal’s inviting Victorian homes.

Back in the 1950s’, a residential area sprang up on the site of the former airport in Novosibirsk. It has a well developed infrastructure with a grid of streets and roads, a school with a stadium, a kindergarten and a pocket park neighbouring the city main street. Here is located the first city air terminal, now out of use but conserved as a monument.

CasaNova completes sculptural ensemble of residential towers
In Rotterdam's Maritime District stands the ensemble of two sculptural residential towers, The Muse and CasaNova. The second, the last to be completed, appears to be balancing with a point on a pedestal because Barcode Architects has cut away volume at the bottom of the tower. The architectural firm continued the sculptural character in the facade design.

Hill West’s Olympia Dumbo tower in full sail

Nurol Life
Nurol Life is an architectural project whose strong visual presence makes a huge impact. The lofty tower (220 metres) and base structure of this building complex stand in the centre of Istanbul and were designed by the Turkish architectural practice Hakan Kiran Architecture to give greater prominence to the area. The minimalist and elegant Nurol Life, completed in 2018, stands out against the city’s urban fabric, in an exclusive area surrounded by a green belt of parks and forests. The interior space is divided into separate structures dedicated to specific functions: the exclusive office area, the residential apartment area and the main entrance area, and contains a total of 501 apartments and 50 offices.

Tianxi Twin Towers
In 2012 MLA+ was commissioned to redesign the Tianxi Twin Towers. Upon completion the twin towers in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province in South-Eastern China, are the tallest residential twin towers of the world.As part of the redesign the communal spaces on the ground floor and the tower tops, as well as the complete façade strategy where revised. The glass façade is decorated with a high contrast pattern that wraps the towers like a fabric.
