Phat Soles, 2017 The space looks more like a theater stage than an ordinary sneaker store. Intense scenic details give a mysterious feeling in an environment where the special, colorful designs of the sneakers star. Theatrical lighting and strategically placed mirrors were key elements of the design, with the result that the images were constantly changing. Cash registers, rehearsal rooms, secret rooms with limited sneakers designs are changing, revealing new spaces behind the strict metal grid, which functions as the stage of a show. INSPIRATION: The mining museum is inspired by sedimentology. Slices of stone and different angles make this project unique. The surrounding remains after rocks should be used in the concreting. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The design of the building is partly under the ground. Parts of the building-body rise above it to create an illusjon of mountains with a valley. These are moved to the opposite sides to create a bigger opening unto the surrounding mountains. This will also allow more light to reach into the building. This villa is perfectly balanced with an application of earthy textures against high-gloss finishes, and raw material against refined elements. The home combines the use of rock, steel, wood and glass - classic modernist design elements re-mixed for new applications. The idea was to create a luxury family home with an ecologically sound design that maximizes indoor-outdoor living. The street front of the south entry, north facing home features a rusted-steel-clad wall, cleverly mounted on tracks so that it slides back to reveal the garage.
