The building site of [The Sarang Church] is facing the 40m road on north. Since it is located at northern corner of the block, it is the first object that the car drivers will recognize right after they get out of the tunnel. Moreover, the site has an atypical triangular shape so that we decided to follow the atypical mass which is corresponding to shape of the site rather than adjusting the efficient rectangular plans. The design scope of this project encompasses the 5th and 6th floors, as well as the roof, of a six-story office building located in Qingpu, Shanghai. The main design goal is to create spatial interaction between the two floors and the roof, which currently lack a vertical connection. Our approach involves removing a section of the 6th floor slab and a portion of the adjacent roof to create a double-height hall and a courtyard on the 6th floor. This modification establishes a vertical link between the 5th floor, 6th floor, and the roof, which is intended to be a garden. Our first biodiverse roof garden way back in summer 2014 was driven by two major factors: the lack of greenery in the street beneath, and the clients’ adoration in their countryside garden. Perched above the junction of Old Street & Goswell Road in trendy Clerkenwell EC1, the rooftop garden is oblong, spanning a 20-metre length x 3 metres. We created a sibling rooftop on the top level of this duplex penthouse to grow fruit & vegetables. Snug brightly on the 6th floor of the Ziggurat Building in Saffron Hill, London EC1, this art deco roof garden, albeit only 30 sqm in size, is one of the most unique projects we’ve created. At first, the expression of this name creates a feeling of duality. Haco+tech is a combination of the names: Hacoupian and technology. This space is the information technology unit of the old and well-known clothing brand “Hacoupian”. The new generation of this collection defined the project. This building was a space for growth and communication between the old and new generations of this business. The proposed site is located within the newly designed masterplan of Rublyevo-Archangelskoe, a territory which occupies 461ha to the west of Moscow. It is a large-scale LEED ND certified project, with aspirations becoming a sustainable, high-tech and harmonious live-work city for business and families. The urban master plan and the expressed departure points formulated within the master plan formed the starting points for the integration of new functions and the associated design for ‘Gerard’. The transformation concept for ‘Gerard’ is in line with the distinctive core values of the context, the factory buildings of the ‘Hoge rug’. These being: the strong structural basis, the structural skeleton, the modular articulation in the façade, the functionality and flexibility of the plan, wherein the structure of the building takes the lead.
