PHAN CHAU TRINH SPORTS HALL

The sports hall is part of an ongoing effort by Phan Chau Trinh Interlevel School to renew its infrastructure, gradually transforming its existing campus to accommodate the needs of both a growing school and the neighboring community. The sports hall is conceived as a large, double-wall volume. This  double-wall system, with an outer layer of corrugated metal separated from the inner layer of cement panels alows for an active climatic layer inbetween. Seen from the surrounding streets, such double-wall facade begins to suggest the structure of gills, giving the building a changing appearance as light, shadow and movement pass across its surface. Such analogy is less about form than about performance: sunlight is filtered, rain is kept... More

Colégio PH Jockey

Project Description Located within the Jockey Club of Rio de Janeiro, the new unit of Colégio PH occupies a building from the 1940s, listed as a historical heritage site. The school, which serves students from elementary to high school, required an interior architecture that reflected the innovative spirit of the brand while respecting the history of the location. Jean Dallazen Jean Dallazen Jean Dallazen Jean Dallazen The main challenge of the project was to preserve important architectural elements, such as the wooden ceiling of the covered patio, considered a historical and cultural heritage, while integrating contemporary elements that represented the school's modern vision. The interior revitalization was c... More

Šielâ school

"The Inari Sámi name Šielâ could be translated as a birth gift given to a newborn for protection." Šielâ, a new school center, was the answer to the need to replace an old, 1960s school decommissioned due to indoor air problems. The approximately 165 pupils of the new comprehensive school study in Inari Sámi, North Sámi and Finnish languages, and the multilingual environment and annually varying class sizes posed special challenges to the design of the learning facilities. alt architects alt architects alt architects alt architects alt architects The starting points for the design of Šielâ were found in the Sámi culture, the construction site on th... Nido Aquilone

The design of the two new extensions to the school complex on Via Montessori in Godo, in the province of Ravenna, represented for the Mecozzi Verdini studio an important opportunity to engage with an already well-established school building system, yet one in need of both functional and compositional updating. The new volumes are conceived as architectural fragments harmoniously integrated into the garden, where the color red becomes a unifying element between the two buildings and contributes to enhancing their formal readability. Gianluca Gasperoni The intervention by the Mecozzi Verdini studio responds to the evolving needs of the local community: within the complex that houses both the “Fantini” primary school and the... Gifted and Talented Schools in Hai Al-Reda

Emerging from a context shaped by decades of instability, the Gifted and Talented Schools in Hai Al-Reda redefines the role of educational architecture in Iraq-not merely as a place of learning, but as a catalyst for national renewal. The project embodies a forward-looking vision that positions education as a foundation for innovation, resilience, and societal transformation. @Nudhum Al-Benaa Consultancy Conceived through a value-driven design framework, the architecture balances performance and purpose—integrating safety and functionality with sustainability and well-being. Indiranagar Primary School

The Challenge: A Legacy at Risk The project began with a brief for demolition of existing school building. A 30-year-old school building in Koyali, Vadodara, was in a dilapidated condition. With a sinking plinth, cracked flooring, and termite-infested doors and windows, lack of natural cross ventilation and heat retention, the four-classroom block was struggling to provide a conducive learning environment. Despite being the oldest structure on campus, distinguished by its characteristic sloping roof, it had become a dark, heat-trapped, and uninspiring environment for learning. Suolahti comprehensive School

The Suolahti comprehensive school was designed in close cooperation with its future users and city representatives. The goal was to make the premises as flexible, multifunctional and efficient as possible, as well as economically and structurally sustainable. Ville-Pekka Ikola / alt Architects Ville-Pekka Ikola / alt Architects The old side of the school represents a straightforward, markedly 70s style building. A new part was designed to strike the same chord while reflecting the softer values of the present. A red-brick facade and strip windows tie the extension to the old side of the architecture, and the extension does not rise higher than the original school. Nepal school project

Rooted in Nepal’s rich cultural heritage and vernacular architecture, the Nepal Village School redefines rural education through a campus that evokes the organic character of traditional villages. Designed using locally sourced, low-impact materials, the project blends seamlessly into its mountainous landscape while fostering a strong sense of identity and belonging. Rather than imposing an institutional character, the school is composed of modular 6x6-meter units arranged in flexible clusters. Greens Farms Academy Fitness Facility

The new fitness facility for Greens Farms Academy has an important role marking the vehicular entrance to the school. A cantilevered canopy reaches out and serves as a strong visual gesture while also serving as a shading device for the western facing glazed facade. The building mediates between neighboring historical buildings and the more recent contemporary additions to the school. Paúl Rivera Paúl Rivera More
