The Sleep Institute

The Sleep Institute is a neurology clinic where sleep performance diagnoses and related consultations are conducted. Patients stay overnight on-site, allowing for polysomnography readings, which required a specific building usage program in terms of facilities, such as a set of complete suites for overnight stays and a monitoring room, as well as common areas for clinical spaces, such as reception, waiting area, and consultation rooms. The project took place in a 1950s house, deteriorated by time, where we worked on significant renovations in terms of demolitions, finishes, and room rearrangements, fitting the required program. william frança william frança william frança william frança wil... Zero Box Lodge Coimbra

ZERO Box Lodge is a diferent accommodation format where the rooms are wooden compartments created for resting with comfort and privacy. Due to its location represents a major role in Coimbra landscape appearance.   This type of program (variation of a capsule hotel, where roo... More

Inscape Meditation Studio

INSCAPE, a new meditation concept, opened in Manhattan 2016. Archi-Tectonics designed the Inscape concept not only as a one-off, but also for worldwide distribution. The first PROTO space in Chelsea occupies a large 6000sf ground floor. The space contains a set of large volumes; ellipsoid meditation spaces; a “Dome Room” and an “Alcove room”, an extensive retail space, as well as a lounge for guests. An important element of healthy living is found in lifestyle changes, meditation and ‘cleaner’ live-work environments. When developing the Inscape meditation concept, prefab construction, renewable materials, such as bamboo, linen and cardboard, became the driver of the spatial configueration.   Medita... More

EnergyPod

It all began back in 2003, because we saw people falling asleep: at work, on the train, in all kinds of places. When we first discussed the idea of napping at work with professionals, what we heard most was that nobody wanted to be caught 'sleeping on the job'. Some admitted that they would sneak off to the toilet, a parked car or an unused conference room to get a little rest. The remainder simply caffeinated their circadian rhythm in an attempt to keep their focus. That’s why we created the EnergyPod: the world’s first chair designed specifically for napping in the workplace.  Through our patented solution, we have created the gold standard that provides unique functionality, requires limited space and helps overcome dated stigma relat...
