Green House

Green House is a small urban residence located along a lively greenway in Tokyo. The house was conceived as a backdrop to everyday life, engaging both its inhabitants and passersby through its presence along the public path.   Rather than simply facing the greenway, the project creates a terrace and front garden that extend the life of the house outward. Over time, these outdoor spaces are intended to function as an extension of the greenway itself, contributing to the shared landscape of the neighborhood. Shota Hiyoshi Shota Hiyoshi The exterior is clad in copper and Japanese cypress, materials that gradually change with weather and age. The façade combines planar and curved surfaces, responding to the verticality... More

Charlotte & Matt's home

At Victoria Road in Alexandra Palace, Zminkowska De Boise Architects have replaced a cold, poorly insulated side-return extension with a crafted, split-level addition that rethinks the relationship between kitchen, living spaces and garden. What was once a narrow, dark galley kitchen squeezed between brick walls is now a warm, spatially efficient sequence of rooms defined by natural materials, carefully controlled daylight and close attention to proportion and detail. The existing house – a three-storey Edwardian terrace – had long suffered from a rear extension that did little to support contemporary family life. Only 1.7 metres wide, with a bituminous felt roof, single-glazed doors and a plastic rooflight, it was perpetually... More

Doll House

As a result of COVID-19 in Taiwan, working from home and taking online classes have become a mainstream lifestyle now. To create a functional living space which at the same time allows for variety, we have eliminated all the original layouts and redefined the space as a simple, clean straight line, replacing the original "0" shape. With the smooth flow of foot traffic, the functionalities of different spaces are able to overlap with each other. By making the living room and the dining room the core of the space, it helps to unite the family, and we hope it will lead to a new lifestyle in the post-COVID-19 era. LB CASA

The work we propose concerns a residential unit located on the first floor inside a historic and listed building in the ancient center of Verona. The context is characterized by the original characteristics of the seventeenth century building itself, such as the structure equipped with decorated wooden beams, the terracotta flooring preserved and partly taken up with the same hand-worked format, the large tuff portal inside only emphasizes the context in which we operated. Edi Solari PadiglioneB has thus concentrated its study inside, creating spaces for today's functions and taking care not to appear obvious or banal. The few square meters available made us rethink the concept of the kitchen, removing the dining table and extending t... More

Loft Benformoso

The project is located on Rua do Benformoso, next to Praça do Martim Moniz, in Lisbon, an area characterized by a frenetic and accelerated rhythm, as well as a multicultural environment.  It consists in a rehabilitation of an apartment at the top of a building, for a temporary housing unit. This typology is defined by a short and intense duration of stay, which offers an opportunity to explore different types of living experiences, different from everyday life. Ines Brandao Arquitectura The spatial configuration that was found, a cross-division which resulted in four similar spaces, did not serve the new purpose. In this way, and in response to the program, it was established a new organization, taking part from a central... More

Atrium House

DESCRIPTION  Atrium house was a response to our Client’s brief for a house of modern simplicity and good space. The architectural design of the house was based on the desire to celebrate spaciousness and create meaningful spatial relationships. The central atrium became the anchor for the house, connecting it with all the living spaces from the first to the highest level. The idea of a punctuation echoed to the façade with a patterned perforation that allowed greenery to climb and peek into the interiors of the house.    CONCEPT The first level presented the living room as a spacious space. A lighted walkway connects the living to the open island kitchen at the back of the house. Our Clients loved these space... More

Residence | Box

The site is located at kadavanthara, between the congested urban layouts of Ernakulam, Kerala. It’s a rectangular corner plot with a road on south and west side, a house in the east and a vacant plot in the north.
