Scarlett Designs blurs the boundaries between structure and nature with the conceptualization and design of Ananta, Ajabgarh. Lobby The lobby is characterized as a luxurious space rooted in the outdoors. Wooden and metallic textures create a centerpiece that reflects the grandeur of the resort. Rough-hewn textured granite offers an element of rocky brutalism, which is offset by bespoke couches. The amalgamation of various free forms are a defining element and lend an organic ambience. VIVI SPA is a true oasis of relaxation. All elements have been selected to meet the standards, but at the same time have a sensory and emotional impact on visitors. This interior design project was an ambitious aesthetic challenge for us. We deviated from the stereotypical warm pastel colours and focused on intimacy. The hotel complex is located between man-made and natural surroundings. Placed in a mild terrain near the village of Vourvoulos in Santorini, it is surrounded by traditional ’pezoules’, large areas of cultivated land that follow the altitudes and are formed with stone walls. The design approach attempts to create a built form that is created from the interplay between contradictory - complementary elements that reference the particular setting and the wider location. Organic shapes from black volcanic stones follow the curved contour lines creating a landscape that reflects the shape of the terrain.
