At the foot of the Sciliar, in the picturesque area of Alpe di Siusi (Bolzano), the spirit of a barn is reborn as a home. The project, realised by noa* (network of architecture), has at its core, the South Tyrolean tradition combined with surprising features internally, resulting from design of visionary and unexpected spaces. In response to the need for a service for the elderly, Álava Regional Council has promoted the construction of the largest old people's home in the region, with 100 residential places and two day-care centres, and capacity to attend to 60 people. ULMA Architectural Solutions has participated in this project, offering a comprehensive service for the design and implementation of the building's facade. The polymer concrete ventilated facade was chosen as material and system for its properties, which suited the project's needs. At the heart of Baie-Saint-Paul, Québec, on land that once housed the largest wooden farm in Canada, a modern getaway has taken root. Hotel La Ferme is the most contemporary of country hotels. Its namesake was an iconic wooden farm, which was ravaged by fire in 1997. From its ashes a warm, unique space was created. LEMAYMICHAUD crafted the look and feel of the hotel. In 2009 Tetra Pak, commissioned this 1300 sqm Hub Centre dedicated to innovation and training to be built adjacent to their existing headquarter. The project is located in the industrial area of the city of Modena, Italy. This is a region that embrace tradition, innovation and style and the project represents this. Example are the Ferrari and Lamborghini Factories and Offices.
