Tribeca Triplex
In New York’s Tribeca neighborhood, history meets contemporary lightness in a Triplex apartment recently renovated by Altra Studio, a project that creates a balance between architectural memory and a European design.

The residence unfolds behind the grand arched windows of a historic cast-iron building, where the interiors are conceived as fluid and airy volumes bathed in natural light. In the living room, a sculptural mirror captures and refracts the surrounding cityscape, while a generous sofa, wooden armchairs, and monolithic dark wood tables create a harmonious interplay of comfort and solidity.

Maison Duane
In this inventive interior reimagining of a Romanesque Revival pre-war building which previously served as a whale bone cutting facility, simple textures merge with the beautiful curvature and direction of light within the space. Exquisite pieces add a sophisticated but yet approachable charm to the living spaces. Accented with wood details and marble counters, these understated details provide a timeless elegance.

V33
TriBeCa’s Vestry Street has a vast variety of facade configurations and building heights. Over the years, the district has evolved from textile trade to artists’ warehouses, and now, residences. The facade’s translucent stone glows to the inside during the day, and to the street at night. As one of Archi-Tectonics‘ many Smart Skins, the V33 building’s facad... More

50 Lispenard
50 Lispenard is a seven story refurbishment project located in the TriBeCa neighborhood of New York City. The original building was a garment factory, and is historically protected, thus the extent of the refurbishment was limited to strictly interior improvements, with the exception of a duplex penthouse addition to the roof. The interiors are rich with wood, steel, and concrete, recalling the original industrial function of the building. The duplex penthouse revolves around a double height void and glass bridge overlooking two outdoor roof terraces. More
