Triplex Perdizes

Triplex Perdizes: Inverting Structural Logic to Prioritize Social LivingThe Triplex Perdizes was born from a young lawyer's desire to transform a standard 200 m² apartment into a dwelling with the soul of a house, prioritizing a complete outdoor area with a swimming pool and gourmet space for gathering friends and family. The project emerged organically while Pietro Terlizzi Arquitetura was working on another unit in the same building, which facilitated the initial contact with the client. The greatest technical and intellectual challenge of the renovation was the radical inversion of the rooftop's outdoor area position relative to the building's original structural proposal. This strategic shift allowed the resident to gain a privileg... More

Arpoador Triplex

In the vision of architects Ivo Mareines and Matthieu Van Beneden, partners at Mareines Arquitetura, having creative freedom in developing the Arpoador Triplex project in Rio de Janeiro was essential to achieving an organic and natural aesthetic. André Rodrigues André Rodrigues The client, a young French investor looking for an apartment in the city, wanted the renovation of the 280 m² unit to include four suites, striking architecture, and a comfortable design.   André Rodrigues André Rodrigues The first step was adapting the floor plan, as the original layout had small rooms and inefficient circulation. In a process that combined engineering and architecture, the slabs, structure... More

Playpod Sanctuary / The Bloomsway

“Our muse came in the form of art, specifically, the celebrated post-impressionistic works of French artist, Paul Cézanne. His paintings of Provence formed the basis of our narrative, reflecting the calming greenery and tranquil mountainous landscapes of his homeland.” — Kenny Kinugasa-Tsui, co-founder of Bean Buro Steven Ko “Through Cézanne’s art, we envisioned a design language that embodied elegance and playfulness—combining natural timber, green hues, curvaceous forms, and vertical elements inspired by trees.” — Lorène Faure, co-founder of Bean Buro Steven Ko The Brief: A Beacon of Wellbeing in Residential Design We were tasked with designing a h... White House

Marked with Scandinavian minimalism in its functionality and aesthetics, the White House bears the first white front of Carouge’s old town in Geneva. FdMP architectes transformed this townhouse into a triplex, also renovating its shop on the street front and annexe at the back. Given the plot’s narrowness, it was fundamental to optimise the dwelling’s usable floor areas. By gathering all amenities at the centre of the house, the architects increased the habitat’s relation to the outdoor, with enhanced views on the street and courtyard. They also used the space in the attic to create a double-height and offer generous proportions and increased natural light. We access the dwelling from the courtyard through a narrow... More

Villa Charleston

Originally the plot is occupied by a school composed of adjoining buildings - a 1910s villa, converted into school offices, a building of classes of 2 levels, 1930s, and two low wings  from the same time.  The whole is quite heterogeneous, unbalanced and off scale in its suburban environment. The buildings are restructured and intended for housing. Two challenges are presented to the architect. Reintegrate the composition into its urban setting and give it consistency and character. It is naturally the ArtDeco spirit that will be put forward. The buildings are deeply restructured, raised and rebalanced by new bodies. The ensemble gains harmony and becomes a welcoming element on one of the points of entry into this city distr... More
