Vancouver’s Canadian Cancer Society Prevention and Survivorship Centre presents a uniquely non-institutional character
Located in Vancouver, BC, the Cancer Prevention and Survivorship Centre (CPSC) expands and reimagines the existing Canadian Cancer Society offices and Jean C. Barber Lodge. The client’s mandate was to create a public face for the CCS’s West Coast head Office, where patients, staff, and the general public can meet both formally and informally to provide support and access to innovative research. The design solution, by SHAPE Architecture, presents a uniquely non-institutional character.

Vancouver's Pacific National Exhibition Amphitheatre to feature a precedent-setting mass timber roof
Situated in Hastings Park, Vancouver, the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) Amphitheatre by Revery Architecture and engineers Fast + Epp envisions a covered, open-air theatre venue with a capacity of approximately 10,0000 beneath a precedent-setting starburst mass timber roof. Designed to span more than 340 feet (104 m), the roof will be one of the world's largest free-span timber roof structures upon completion.

A study in scale and proportion, this modernist single-family home by Leckie Studio Architecture + Design features a central three-sided courtyard that draws light deep into the centre portion of a relatively long and narrow floor plan. The scheme in effect introduces a third ‘middle yard’ to otherwise typical front and rear yards.
