Courtyard House
The entirety of a terraced Victorian property in Stoke Newington was redesigned and extended, keeping only the building’s bare tectonic skeleton, due to the lack of structural integrity. The length of the floorplan meant that there was a need for natural light to reach the middle part of the house, thus the idea was born to retain a part of the rear garden as a courtyard that would sit amongst the functional layout of the space and provide not only light, but also vital cross ventilation and visual connection. Çasa Trancoso by studio mk27 influenced by its proximity to the ocean and the textures and colours of its tropical environment
Located in Trancoso, a tranquil seaside town in Brazil’s Bahia province, Vista House by studio mk27 is a 8,343 square foot home that sits atop a 46-metre-high cliff. The design is strongly influenced by the proximity of the ocean and the colours and textures of the tropical environment and features wide openings that frame views of the surrounding landscape ‘like a wide-angle camera.’

Restaurante El Gordo y el Flaco
Trusting in our studio, Salva and Pablo commissioned us with the project for the relocation of their restaurant. For this purpose, an old corner house with no architectural value is chosen, located in a low-rise building area. This new location makes it possible to house the new restaurant in its own building, which allows all the advantages that its old premises did not have. The project covers the demolition of the old building and the construction of a new one. Whenever there is a change of business, there is a need to improve the existing, so the main starting point of the project was to solve all the problems that the old location had without affecting the main features of the restaurant.
