ALEX
Alex, the name of the project as well as that of its owner, was designed as a utopian space for a bachelor who loves the bare beauty of minimalist lines. This new 47 sqm two-room public housing flat came with the standard compartmentalised areas for living, kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom.

Good design is based on function, and I’m not afraid to break conventions to achieve it. I removed unnecessary internal walls and doors to achieve a continuous flow of space, with functions positioned and designed in a way which considers ease of use and the homeowner’s priorities.

Villa RS by JUMA Architects employs charred wooden cladding and horizontally oriented planes to blend with the Belgian landscape
In the Flemish Ardennses, Villa RS by JUMA Architects is situated in a picturesque landscape with church towers in the distance. The horizontal nature of the house, as well as the black façade of burnt wood, are intended to deflect attention to the surrounding nature.

Netherlee Project
A colourfully camouflaged 1980s home was brought to life with room to breathe and a respectful renovation. Colour was reduced to allow architectural provenance to reveal itself and decorative elements compliment and highlight its geometric forms. A calming environment imbued with primary elements and a monochromatic palette results.A neglected 1980s home featuring dominant use of colour hid the true elegance of the architectural form. Renovation of a 1930′s villa
Situated on top of a hill in the city of Lausanne (Switzerland), this three stories private villa built in the 1930’s benefits from magnificent views of the terraced vineyards of the UNESCO region Lavaux. The architectural intervention was followed by the reconfiguration of the space in order to create three autonomous apartments – one for the owners and two others intended for rent to students or small families. In the lower level apartment, most of the partition walls were demolished to offer more generous living areas with better light conditions. PH House
Norm Architects have restored and rebuilt a historic villa in Copenhagen after a devastating fire. The story goes that the house used to be inhabited by the renowned Danish architect, designer and cultural critic, Poul Henningsen.
The villa, located in Copenhagen, is said to have been the home of the famous, danish design-icon, Poul Henningsen. Today, a family of three resides in the historic house – a modern home that holds references to its original state – with beautiful high panels, parquet flooring, low, paned windows, teak furniture and – of course – retro PH lamps hanging over the kitchen island.
