Villa Anelli

Villa Anelli is a private Inhabitable Work by Fausto Ferrara on Lake Garda, a residential commission of more than 2,200 sqm for a high-level private client. The project does not treat the lake as a mere view, but as an active part of the architecture. Water, light, air and reflections enter into the construction of space, while the relationship between interior and exterior is articulated through thresholds, protected terraces and spatial sequences designed to preserve privacy, intimacy and a direct relationship with the landscape. Villa Anelli belongs to Ferrara’s research into the Inhabitable Work: the private house is not conceived as an object of representation or a display of status, but as a Work in which scale, construction a... Evo Water

This project revolves around a specific and explicit theme: water. Not merely as a functional element, but as a material evoked, reflected, and reinterpreted through surfaces, light, and depth. Andrea Migliorati The space unfolds as an immersive environment, where the color blue envelops walls and volumes, transforming architectural perception into a sensory experience. The large basin serves as both a physical and symbolic focal point, while the lighting creates a suspended, almost underwater atmosphere. Andrea Migliorati Andrea Migliorati The hammered metal ceiling reflects light irregularly, generating vibrations and ripples that evoke the movement of water. The metallic surfaces capture and fragment the reflections, amp... More

Temple of Silence

The Temple of Silence is a Total Spatial Work by Fausto Ferrara, built in Torrenieri, Tuscany, as a private non-denominational sacred pavilion. The Work originates from a radical question: can architecture exist beyond function and return human beings to a condition of presence? The Temple is neither a hall, a church nor a meditation facility understood as a service. It is a place in which architecture suspends purpose in order to preserve another condition of dwelling: silence, inoperativity and a return to oneself. The entrance does not coincide with a façade. A large curved wall interrupts direct movement and transforms access into a sequence of thresholds. The body is required to slow down, deviate and momentarily lose its habi... More

NN Kralingen

The project forms the border of the Kralingen East district in Rotterdam. As a result of careful urban integration, a connection is made with the structure of the existing neighborhood, whilst creating space to continue the nearby green structure of the ring canal along the water. The ribbon development on the east side also acts as a buffer against the noise of the nearby highway for the neighborhood behind. Sebastian van Damme Sebastian van Damme Sebastian van Damme Sebastian van Damme The chosen parking solution has been a leading factor for the urban design and clearly demonstrates the two-sided characteristic of the site. For the 31 terraced houses on the east side, parking is placed in a semi-sunken basement under... More

CASA PR

The house is located in a slopy terrain which has the virtue to be localised in a fairly high topographic altitude, due to this, with visual orientation to the litoral mountain range, the urban center and the sea. Lake House

The house on the lake refers to the local boat and fishing houses and follows the tradition of rural construction by the water. Lightness, a low, wide roof structure and a strong emphasis on the horizontal determine the design. The timber construction, predominantly from local woods, is elevated to protect it from flood. The wooden porch surrounding the house widens to a terrace at the lakeside, completely covered by the steep saddleback roof. The vertical timber formwork of the facades is untreated, with wide glazing allowing generous views into the surroundings. Via Donau Administration

The long, one-story structure perfectly and naturally merges into the existing ensemble on the banks of the Danube. Yet it successfully redefines the place, recharges it and provides it with a new unique identity. Floating on a “high-water platform”, its subtle elegance radiates far into the river basin and reflects the interplay between longitudinal wood volumes and transversed rural massive buildings. Bruno Klomfar Bruno Klomfar The roof gable is slightly tilted and lifted to underline the main entrance accessible by ramps. The foyer and the multifunctional seating room are connected to the front terrace to be clearly visible and enhanced to high quality spaces. The wide vertical wooden lamellas to the Danube underl... Botha's Halte Primary School

The project entailed the development of a new Primary School, replacing the dilapidated Botha’s Halte farm school, in the Breede River Valley, for the Bosjes Trust. Although a privately sponsored project, the school is operated by the Western Cape Education Department. The new buildings provide a state-of-the-art facility for 250 rural primary school learners from a predominantly farm worker community. The buildings have been designed around sustainability principles, while respecting the cultural heritage of the area. A didactic design approach was followed, whereby these aspects are demonstrated throughout the complex as part of the teaching and educational processes.   The “Anna Zaal” (circa 1927), the first scho...
