VA Residence was designed by the prestigious American studio, in one of the most famous residential areas of the city where quality and architecture dominate. Earthy, simplicity… these are the first two words which the clients pronounced during our first meeting as fundaments of the inspirational concept leading the project of their Mediterranean house in Italy. And it was suddenly reciprocal love. Others words we used were: open space, integration, solidity , continuity , natural, easy, sustainable and environmental friendly. The context: an existent private house with garden and swimming pool of about 200 sq.m with a fantastic view and natural environment on the extreme western Ligurian coast, at about 6 km to the French border and the Côte d’Azur. Private Residence - Reggio Emilia

“Archetipo Architettura” have designed this austere, modern residence. Capoferri engineered special steel hardware to support the external windows made from mahogany. The sun-breaking panels, some of which are fixed while others are hinged, are made from wooden slats fixed to a support structure in brushed stainless steel. The verticality of the slats communicates with the geometries and the lines that characterize the pure minimalism of the villa. At the same time the movement of the sun-breaking panels creates a sense of permeability which contrast the impact of theA visible stone structure – a fascinating play with contrast and materials.
