Padiglione WWF Oasi Cave Noale

The site is located on the border of the Naturalistic Oasis of Cave di Noale, an area of approximately 40 hectares inserted in an agricultural landscape fragmented by residential urbanizations. depaolidefranceschibaldan architetti depaolidefranceschibaldan architetti The oasis is the result of the abandonment of clay excavation activities in the early seventies. Congress and Exhibition Center

The project is situated in a green area outside the city center, in an alpine landscape featured by well recognizable natural and anthropic signs. Although positioned outside the urban settlement, it has a strong strategic nature and it’s well connected to the public network (schools, leisure centers, infrastructures).The building hosts several different functions, like get-together activities for the local community, shows and entertainment. It will be used for concerts, theatrical performances, conventions, conferences, art exhibitions and expos. Sukima House

This is a renovation of a house built about 90 years ago in Nara City. The house was used for rent and was abandoned after several (merciless) renovations. The columns, beams and earth walls were seriously damaged by the leak and ants. Sunlight was blocked by the baths and toilets that were added to the garden, and trees and weeds were overgrown.It takes a long time and a lot of money to repair a house by Japanese traditional construction method , and insulating and air-tightening the entire house also destroys features of the traditional Japanese house which loosely connected interior and exterior.Therefore, we created a compact living room in the center of the house, which was aseismatically reinforced and thermally insulated by a modern... JRN Pavillion

The client for this project wanted a multipurpose building to host events and activities as well as annual family observances that architects came up with an elegant open pavilion structure with a width of 14 meters to accommodate the needs of the client. The decision to use wood as the main material was due to its significance to the family. The joinery makes use of local techniques and know-how as much as possible in order to allow for wood movement. The architects wanted to create a tall, open space but found that typical timber structure needed to have a column every four to six meters or else required a large truss frame.
