When in 1976 a young Leopoldo Lando, at just 21, decides to open up its own company in Rossano Veneto,an area where the local craftsmanship is traditionally and tightly connected to the reproduction of antique furniture, he does so alongside his intuition that the time has come for furniture with cleaner lines.Furniture with an aura of much more interesting and subtle elegance, inspired by those of the Umbria and Tuscany countryside tradition, where the furniture in the homes of a cultured and sophisticated bourgeoisie, while showing refined proportions, materials, constructive techniques and finishes, were stripped of all the excessive decoration that was typical of the mundane life of a city’s high society. Over 40 years of relentless research that has brought the company to develop an unparalleled knowledge of a wide range of materials, in particular that of solid wood. A knowledge that has soon been complemented by the creativity and vision of world-famous designers that, throughout the years, have been interpreting LANDO’s mission: to promote, day after day, the idea that beautiful living is, above all,“quality thought”.
