True to this philosophy, MAKRO designs, engineers and manufactures bathroom products, featuring a design which is not merely a formal act, but rather the expression of meticulous and accurate research: bathtubs, showers, wash basins and matching furniture inspired by unique and essential concepts.
Some of these products have made an impression, a line of demarcation on the market, paving the way for it to overcome conventional and consolidated models to offer new styling ideas, especially for the world of design and architecture.
MAKRO was the first company in the bathroom sector to introduce the concept of undermount bathtubs and floor-flush showers, which are still the distinguishing traits of its entire production. In 2006, MAKRO devised and began manufacturing the first bathtub/shower system, a product ensuing from the incorporation of an undermount shower into a bathtub. This gave rise to the MAKRO SYSTEMS collection (bathtub/shower, bathtub/wash basin, and bathtub/shower/wash basin systems) presented at the 2008 Cersaie, a comprehensive range of compositions and units from various lines, which fit together perfectly and grouped together according to type.
The MAKRO SYSTEMS collection has been enhanced and expanded year after year, exploring new solutions in an ongoing proposal of technical and shape-related innovations: it comprises bathtubs, showers, vanity tops, storage cabinets, screens and partitions which can be customised in an extensive range of types, sizes, finishes and colours. Based on this new concept, capable of redesigning the bathroom of the future, MAKRO has set a threshold on which to begin each new development model.
The company has always paid the utmost attention to materials as the basis of its pursuit of product innovation, often anticipating trends and fashions, involving a large number of partners in its experimentations, yet with its mind always set on the renewed values of equity, sustainability and energy savings, which are at the core of the new global concern. In its choice of wood, for instance, the company prefers to use heat-treated timber from reforestation areas. In addition, all processing and installation systems are devised with a view to achieving energy savings at 360°.
