Overlooking a white sandy beach cove with spectacular sea vistas, this apartment – nestled in the coveted Bulgari Residences in Dubai – blurs the lines between the interior and the exterior with its decor inspired by the color palette of the Greek islands of Santorini and Mykonos.
The homeowners are a couple with two kids who spend most of their time in their main residence in Switzerland but vacation in Dubai for several weeks each year.
The impeccably curated, holiday home – which also gives access to the Bulgari Hotel’s amenities as well as the Bulgari Pier – takes full advantage of the panorama and natural light that flood its spaces.
“The property has beautiful views, and we wanted to bring some of this gorgeous exterior inside the apartment through the design,” Ksenia Mezentseva confesses. The design team made this vision a reality through the homeowner’s favorite color: blue. “From the very beginning, she said that she wanted this apartment in all shades of blue and turquoise,” Ksenia Mezentseva explains. “So we looked at the sea and imagined all types of blues from deep indigo to light turquoise — you can see it throughout the whole space.”
The second-most used color was white, recalling Dubai’s sand beaches that juxtapose neutral tones with striking azure waters. Natural oak wood also provides a neutral background for floor and joinery to help highlight free-standing furniture pieces.
