A future-focused workplace strategy for Endeavour Group

Endeavour Group, the parent company behind leading Australian retailers BWS, Dan Murphy’s and Jimmy Brings, turned to Amicus to develop a National Workplace Strategy aimed at redefining their office environments across Australia. The goal was to align these spaces with their core value of sociability and to consolidate their brands under the unified identity of One Endeavour.

With a diverse and geographically dispersed workforce, the challenge was to create a forward-thinking workplace strategy that would enhance collaboration, connection, and continuous learning.

Amicus began with an extensive consultation phase, engaging with both leadership and staff through workshops and interviews. They meticulously evaluated Endeavour Group's existing offices in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane to identify their unique needs and challenges. The vision was to establish a social hub that would encourage team interaction and synergy, breaking down geographical and organisational barriers.

Collaborating with The General Store and State of Work, Amicus co-developed a design concept specifically tailored to Endeavour Group’s needs. The interior design needed to address the diverse nature of the locations, ranging from a heritage-listed building in South Australia to a modern office in Melbourne’s Richmond. Despite these varied contexts, Amicus ensured a cohesive aesthetic and design principles that captured the essence of One Endeavour.

The innovative Laneway concept was central to the design, featuring a social space reminiscent of a Town Square. This concept was designed to unite teams from different locations into a single, collaborative environment. The workspace was crafted to support an activity-based working model that emphasised flexibility and interaction.

Despite a tight 12-week timeline, Amicus delivered a transformative workplace that surpassed expectations. The reimagined office spaces not only enhanced the physical environment but also revitalised Endeavour Group’s organisational culture.

The new workspace has evolved into a vibrant hub for collaboration, innovation, and community. Employees have experienced a noticeable shift in their interactions and collaborations, fostering a sense of belonging and shared purpose. The Town Square concept has become a symbol of unity, bringing together diverse teams and sparking creativity and synergy.
