Our shortlisted competition entry for the Glasgow School of Art competition.

The proposal sits opposite Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s Masterpiece in the Garnethill district of Glasgow, an area in which E+C have previously completed three buildings for St Aloysius College.

The building attempts to understand its role within the context of Garnethill and the city and aims to encourage and generate cohesion with that urban fabric. It is responsive to dominant typology, scale and materiality as well as the site topography, allowing a wider engagement with the city from its hill-top location.
