We have been approached for this project about 3 years ago. The owners of the “GSTF” brand came to us because they wanted to open a new location in Milano, and they wanted to shift a little bit by their previous concept.The main challenge was to design a contemporary cocktail bar and restaurant offering food and beverage from morning to night.

They wanted to combine a warm and contemporary atmosphere with the strong identity of the brand, improving into a new relaxed and luxurious feeling both with the architecture of the location, and also adapting the menu to the new environment and target client.

We came up with a new concept they liked immediatly, so we went straight into the building process using our contractors in order to speed up the construction. We have been able to complete the full realization respecting the schedule we planned with the client.

The project is very much architectural oriented; this means that we had an architectonical approach to the spaces. As we are use to do, we worked designing small interior architecture to place inside the space. In this way we have been able to divide and achieved new sub-spaces that fulfilled the need to create different ways to enjoy the place.

The double height architecture is enriched with wooden elegant boxes, a kind of “private rooms” placed on the ground floor and on the mezzanine floor, creating a sense of unicity and lounge feeling in all the restaurant.

The result is an elegant and pleasant mix of traditional and contemporary materials and shapes. A contrast between the very straight and strong structure of the building and the warm wooden floor and celing; the large brass counter and the metal and yellow glass wine display developing through the black marble staircase.

So far we have to say that all the clients just as the owners have appreciated the atmosphere of the place.The presence of a complete window full facade has helped us a lot in order to create a sort of connection between our interior and the outside street life: it’s very fascinating to sit inside and have the feeling to be outside.
