As a main Ceiling,SCS and WCP consultants we have been invited by arch.Filip Pokorny to make a technical solution of their custom made Baffle Ceiling. Vertical panels of the ceiling were designed with a "wave shaped" bottom line in three different forms. Dimensions of panels were really big - span of supports was 9 m and the max. panel height was 850 mm - what fact together with a fireproof requirement resulted into a honeycomb 36 mm sandwich structure use. Such a big panel was not possible to be installed in one piece - we made a special cutting plan which consisted of 6 different parts which allowed us to assemble all three panel shapes. To reach and clean the skylight above the Baffle ceiling a sliding panel installation was also demanded.To fullfill all these complex requirement we finally used a 9,3 m long steel carrier supported on its ends by two massive wheel runners situated on two parallel side rails. On this basic supporting structure were fixed honeaycomb panels suspended on demountable bayonett hinges. Final result meets all investor's and fireman's requirements also satisfying the original architect vission. A customer's surwey is also highly appreciating a new main shopping hall design.
