Villa Igea

The eclectic villa designed in 1927 by Eugenio Cavadini, was conceived as private residence and medical cabinet for the surgeon that commissioned it. It was converted into an architecture studio and family home, stripping it to its original substance.

We gave our interpretation of early twentieth century bourgeois spirit to the villa with a chromatic play throughout each room. Twentieth century modern and contemporary elements establish a dialogue with the existing antiques and the spaces accommodating them.

The garage was converted into an artist studio with the addition of a wooden volume.

The new see-through structure is entirely prefabricated and dry constructed. It is raised from the ground and rests on granite plinths laid on gravel. A sculptural curved steel sheet serve as roof, collecting and leading rainwater to the ground.
