CASA ARBO

Matia Di Frenna Müller as Architects

Located in a residential area of northern state of Colima. Casa Arbo is composed by many volumes (boxes). All this boxes, create a harmonious play of volumes with many textures.

The active volcano is the heart of Colima, because of this our project is realized to give all spaces this spectacular view day and night. The main facade also presents the play of volumes and is reflected both in heights and depths. The handmade Mexican labor is protagonist in our project, it shows the creativity, dedication and different ways to use the material of the region. To build Casa Arbo we opted to use two principal materials, stone and concrete. All the first level has stone cover and the second level is pure polished concrete.

This election of materials are to refresh all the inside of the house, because of the warm weather. This is also the reason why the main facade has not windows, south is the worst orientation in this zone.

Natural light and ventilation are fundamental elements in Casa Arbo, creating three interior gardens and domes to give a fresh feeling with plants, lights and shadows.
