Aectual produces customizable building products using 3D print robots and software tools. The first three letters of the name refer to the AEC (Architecture, Engineering & Construction) industry. The company focuses on designers, project developers, building owners and users, architects and the manufacturing industry in general. The team has a background in architecture and product design, combined with software development, material development, robotics and engineering. All production is done in a digital production facility with 4 enormous 3D printers, in Amsterdam.
In addition to the 3D-printed floor that is currently being delivered to several international customers, Aectual develops digital production chains for printed facade elements and printed molds for concrete products. Recently the company created a 3D printed façade for the main building of the Dutch EU Presidency 2016. The digital engineering of products is developed together with international engineering and advisory agency Arup. The 3D print materials are developed with multinational Henkel.
Aectual is the professionalization of the 3D Print Canal House project that won several awards and was viewed by Barack Obama during his presidency. Recently the team has expanded with Jelle Feringa, software architect and robotic expert. By further developing the knowledge within Aectual, 3D printed products can actually be delivered to the market and implemented worldwide. In doing so, Aectual has established partnerships with large international companies and designers, and invites new partners to join this revolution.
