What has begun with The Apollo Business Centre I has been further developed by The Apollo Business Centre II. The main idea was to create a new part of the city and transform the industrial part of the old car factory to a place which would offer its inhabitants not only the perfect work environment, but also pleasant spaces for relaxation. Apollo BC II has managed to join such opposites as modern era and nature, city and park and also because of that it has fast become a popular place to spend time at for people from its surrounding. Urban concept is built on dynamic setting of buildings into the greenery, with added accent in the central space while enclosed with particular facades of nearby standing buildings. These are easily identifiable for people due to their specific colouring and together they create one urban complex.
Formation of the inside space, full of green, rugged terrain, acts as a contrast to the clean silhouettes of the office buildings, and creates harmony between work and leisure. It`s sharp composition requires soft interventions, which are designed according to the Feng Shui principles. Soft lines of the rugged grass terrain with trees, supplemented with groups of higher grass, plants, gravel fields and curve-linear paths, are softening this basic concept and create interesting corner spaces, dedicated to outdoor areas for coffee-shops and restaurants. Water feature in the middle of the space mirrors white facades of the buildings and provides fresh oasis for relaxation and refreshment. In the centre of it a glass object can be found, through which water falls into the underground floors. From it a geyser raises periodically and at the same time water disappears into the ground.
The water pool is designed as a fluent pass between the paths. Across the pool, stone plates are situated, which float over the water surface. Wooden platforms roofed with light canopy create pleasant atmosphere for an outdoor sitting, providing shadow for the coffee-shop visitors. Our effort was to create a harmonic composition that would blend the business of an office centre with calm environment, which would ease the stress and bring comfort and peace. Employees and visitors from the surrounding neighbourhood can enjoy pleasant atmosphere of the park, with unsteady rising masses full of greenery, stone monoliths and coloured objects, which protect the park from daily busy traffic. However, the most important part, life and motion, is given to our project by the people themselves.
