The intervention responds to a simple commission: to accommodate the new UDP Innovation Factory using the double-height entrance of the building that houses the Faculty of Architecture, Art, and Design (FAAD) on Salvador Sanfuentes Street.
Given the nature of the commission, the intervention was conceived as a component capable of being recognised with its own identity within the building, in order to give the Factory its own image and make it recognisable as an autonomous unit within the FAAD.

The project was conceived based on the memory of the souvenir shop at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, visited some time ago, which we reconstructed through collages that were adjusted to the more or less stable figure with which we had resolved the programme and the surface area required.
This exercise in memory helps us grasp the place with relative clarity without getting too distracted by the details, thus limiting the proposal to the minimum elements we could possibly imagine.

To carry this out, the design decisions are assumed to be repetitive facts: all the walls mediating the relationship between the Factory and the existing building are shelves; the shelving is always clad with a layer of alveolar polycarbonate plus a layer of corrugated polycarbonate; the relationship between the Factory's rooms is always translucent glass, and so on.

Even if the project is small, thinking in this way allows us to move quickly and consistently in the intervention, having only to solve specific problems arising from its implementation adjusted to the requirements of the application site. Then, each element that escapes the possibility of a global decision is treated as an accident. The set constructed under these parameters is highly synthetic in its expression, yet rich in the diversity of spaces it develops.
