House of Waves is a single-family Residence built on four levels on a beach-facing lot. The design is driven by the homeowners’ desire to create a beachside retreat with all the amenities needed by a family that loves to entertain. The aim is relaxed sophistication: a place where a daytime trip to the beach is just as likely as sunset cocktails.

It all begins with the entrance across a Zen meditation garden that wraps around the side of the house. A wall of sliding doors creates a flow from this side yard through the front living room, kitchen, dining room to the rear pool for seamless indoor/outdoor living. We have maximized the open, airy feeling of the house with double-height spaces and open balconies that allow a view of the water from every room in the house. The culmination of the house journey is the rooftop meditation deck in front of the Master Bedroom. This provides a sweeping view of the ocean, reminding the clients of the original design focus of the house.
