The newly constructed Lorentz Casimir Lyceum on Ceramlaan 12 in Eindhoven reflects a commitment to modern architecture and precise facade detailing. The building’s exterior combines functionality with visual appeal, creating a contemporary design that aligns with its educational purpose.

Custom-Made Facade Profiles
For this project, custom Isis facade profiles were applied, combining three distinct profile heights to achieve a dynamic and layered effect:
- Isis 50 mm: Offering prominence and depth
- Isis 35 mm: Adding intermediate relief
- Isis 20 mm: Introducing fine detail and subtle texture
These profiles, with working widths between 530 mm and 580 mm, create a balanced interplay of shadow and light, enhancing the visual interest of the facade. The thoughtful variation in heights gives the building a playful, yet structured character.

Warm Metallic Coating
The facade is finished with a Hairexcel 60mu coating in a gold/bronze metallic finish (color code 6981). This coating was selected not only for its durability but also for its warm and luxurious appearance. The reflective properties of the metallic finish interact beautifully with natural light, causing the building to appear subtly different throughout the day—shifting from rich golden tones to soft bronze hues as the light changes.

Design and Functionality in Harmony
The facade design highlights the balance between aesthetic appeal and practical functionality. The use of bespoke profiles tailored to the project’s requirements ensures that the building meets both architectural and performance standards. By incorporating diverse heights and finishes, the facade gains a unique rhythm and texture, giving the Lorentz Casimir Lyceum a distinct identity within its surroundings.

This project serves as an example of how tailored solutions and innovative design choices can bring architecture to life, creating spaces that are not only visually striking but also inspire those who inhabit them.
