The interior design project for the pediatric dentistry clinic of Dr. Isabel Cadroy begins with the definition of a new communication strategy to strengthen the positioning of the business. The new premises and the renewal of the brand represent the beginning of a new stage that consolidates its competitive advantage as a clinic dedicated exclusively to pediatric dentistry and orthodontics for children and adolescents.

For the doctor it was important for the clinic to be friendly and welcoming, but without falling into a childish aesthetic. And to be able to transform stress and fear, common in dental visits, into confidence and tranquility. Vitale designed a corporate space that connects with all the public of the clinic and recreates a positive, familiar, comfortable and calm atmosphere.

The project highlights the corporate philosophy of the clinic: the importance of educating families to achieve good oral health and improve the quality of life of their patients. Under this perspective, Vitale generates a common thread that highlights the idea of "learning at the dentist" conceptualizing the necessary communication work done by the clinic to make dental processes and treatments understandable.

The creative axis is inspired by some of the ways of learning in children's cognitive development. The brand and the corporate interior design project are generated taking as a starting point the construction games of wooden pieces and puzzles of elementary geometries. The clinic surprises both children and adults with recognizable out-of-scale elements that refer to children's learning, such as huge porticoes, lamps in the form of wooden mobiles or paneling in the form of puzzles. The result is an evocative space that connects with the child in us and transports you.

The premises consist of 2 floors (with a total of 350m2) that are distributed according to a complete program of needs. At street level, patient care areas are located (reception with waiting area, radiology, sedation, sterilization cabinets, post-treatment room, children's bathroom and adult bathroom). The basement houses the laboratory, a room for training and meetings, a large private area for staff (with changing room and office), a storage room and a facilities room.

The waiting area is a bright space open to the outside that is delimited and articulated with versatile and modular furniture. After entering through a 3-meter-high archway built with wooden pieces, capsule-shaped openings with comfortable upholstery that invite relaxation and generate a sense of protection take center stage. The aim is to provide patients with calm and well-being with friendly forms and warm indirect lighting.

The reception area of the clinic is tiled with 10×10 ceramic tiles in the corporate color, reminiscent of a typical notebook grid. The walls are protected with pantographed birch plywood paneling that helps to convey warmth and calm. The main points of contact between the clinic and patients (such as the reception and treatment rooms) feature plants and plant elements for their positive effect on mood.

The corporate colors and branding are part of the clinic's design and subtly accompany the visitor. The new brand is built with a typography based on elementary geometries (circle, triangle, rectangle, etc.). The result is a robust and forceful identity based on the childish language of building blocks.

The circulation areas are dynamized as tunnels that give rhythm to the space and provide a cozy, homey feeling. A first tunnel houses the restrooms and serves as a transition between the entrance area and the rest of the clinic. It leads to a distributor that provides access to radiology, to the post-treatment room through another wooden portico (this room remains open and visible when not in use) and to the area leading down to the basement. A spectacular 5-meter-high mobile illuminates the stairwell.

A second tunnel provides access to the sedation room and the cabinets, which are located at the back of the building. An atypical medical area, in harmony with the rest of the clinic, which is flooded with natural light from a skylight with a formidable vertical garden.

It was important for the design of the clinic to take maintenance and cleaning into account. The choice was made for continuous vinyl flooring, especially suitable for the healthcare segment, which guarantees excellent performance, durability and mechanical and stain resistance. The floor coverings are also raised in the areas of greatest contact with users to protect the walls. Along the same lines, ceramic coverings and decorative plywood paneling are also used.

The result is a space of well-being, safety and knowledge that, by combining traditional educational elements with the image of the clinic, achieves a very direct perception of the doctor's personality and her vision of pediatric dentistry. For adults it is an environment full of nods to their childhood and for children a comfortable and familiar space. A medical center that communicates the corporate strategy of the business by inviting patients and their families to an active attitude of learning about oral health.
