YOOO is a new play centre for children in U Venues Cairo, Egypt. Embracing colour, creativity and high-energy fun, YOOO! is marketed as a play centre for children of ages between 3-12 years old. PDI worked with Bulgarian gaming company Walltopia for the game and climbing features, with furniture from Pedrali and leather sourced through C+M, bringing to life a bold and colourful interior with a punchy, pastel-free palette.

Striking graphic patterns have been painted on the walls, interplaying with the industrial environment. Many of the original build features were preserved, including as the exposed ceiling, poured concrete floor, and breeze block walls, while all games are made with natural wood, rope, and net. The design team at PDI ensured all lower walls were clad with cushioned padding, doubling as a playful design feature and as a safety measure to give parents peace of mind.

The vast space offers a generous expanse for kids to burn off energy, but the design firm also wanted to ensure a sense of interconnectedness. This was executed with carefully curated zones with different games provided by Walltopia. Neon signs divide the areas with simple invitations such as “JUMP” and “PLAY”, adding to the element of discovery. Zone highlights include a toddler area, a climbing section, and a snaking aerial net walkway that leads to treehouses, slides, and ball pools

The trampolining area features tech integration that allows players to make their avatar bounce on the TV screen and collect points – an innovative way to test agility and strength. And for the adults? A comfortable cafe to relax in and keep a watchful eye over their little ones.

With safety, exploration, and socializing at the heart of its concept, Prospect Design International has created an exciting and engaging space for families to enjoy together. YOOO! offers children the opportunity to develop their young minds, and most importantly, have fun while they’re doing it.
