Urbanization and climate change stress cities, making biodiversity and greenery essential solutions. Rooftop gardens, like the ours that won the 2022 Rooftop Award for most impressive rooftop garden in the Netherlands, reduce heat stress and create attractive spaces. This garden feels like a jungle with its mix of edible plants, shrubs, trees, and climbers. It serves as an inspiration for visitors to Ebben Tree Nursery and the Inspyrium event center.

The garden is multifunctional: perfect for meetings, events, and workshops, with spaces like an outdoor bar, glasshouse, and a treehouse with panoramic views. Its year-round appeal is ensured by carefully chosen materials, colors, and evergreen plants. The garden also supports biodiversity, attracting birds and insects, monitored with the local nature working group.

Large trees, including those from the walnut family and Gymnocladus, and large-leaved shrubs like Fatsia, Kalopanax, and Tetrapanax create a jungle effect. The central area features rare trees with edible fruits, while evergreen Osmanthus x burkwoodii contrasts with edible herbs. The full planting plan is on our website.

Additionally, the roof garden serves experimental and educational purposes. It features 3-D printed benches from recycled nursery pots, highlighting sustainability. Lightweight, plug-and-play trees from The Urban Jungle Project are installed, and the substrate base uses lightweight glass foam. For acid-loving plants, a separate area with acidified roof substrate is provided.
