The shape of the house is a hexagon. Thanks to this form, it was possible to make the most convenient layout while maintaining all ergonomic standards. The creation of the form was inspired by the examples of modernist small architectural forms, like bus stops, which were actively built on the territory of modern Ukraine in the 50s. Thus, we, as architects, want to rethink the connection of our Soviet past with the current state of our country.

The house is located in the Western part of Ukraine, in village “Dilove”. Such location solves a number of problems. Currently, there are many internally displaced people in the country, and most of them immigrate to the west. Unfortunately, due to the large number of people, not everyone is willing to live separately, so the production of such modular houses would provide them with a decent place to live. As soon as the situation in the country improves, people will return home, and the houses can be used as a tourist recreation area, because the village is located in the mountains, which is visited by many tourists.

For this house, we chose a small amount of building materials, so that it was quick and easy in the construction process. Conventionally, it can be divided into 4 parts. This is a metal support; the main single structure of walls and floor; windows; roof. Each part overlaps one another like a constructor.

The main raw material is concrete slabs with marble chips. They completely cover the interior of the house and the facades. The choice of this particular material was made not only for the benefit of the aesthetic appearance of the building.

In the village where the house is designed, there is a marble quarry, which has not been working for several years. The production of these slabs could restore the work of the quarry and provide numerous jobs. Currently, this is very relevant, because due to the closed borders, many working men have lost their jobs.
