On the edge of Washington, DC, along Sligo Creek, a home for a family, a pilot, and a medical doctor was designed and built with Sea Containers. The two stories separated were then covered as a large dining, living, and kitchen area. Over the cliff edge was a deck and loads of window glass with passive solar heating and sterling vistas.

The Container home has 4 bedrooms, and a side garage for the hobby of mechanics. Sitting Japanese style is a wonderful intimacy with a historic bow on the wall. Floating in the air was a theme, including the metal fireplace.

The outer container walls of Corten Steel will last as long as stainless steel. This was a conservation winner using lost containers with super insulation inside. Preservation, conservation, and controlled passive sunlight reduced consumption and added nature at its best. One day, a lift may add a 3rd floor all with lifting containers!
