Trifolium Floweshop

MARCOZERO Estudio als Architecten

On the ground floor of a 3-story building dating back to 1950, you will find Trifolium Flower Shop, a contemporary-style flower shop that opens directly onto the street, extending itself invitingly and closely to the sidewalk.

The shop covers just 35 square meters, but due to the removal of the existing ceiling, raising the ceiling height to 4 meters, the spatial sensation is comfortable. The lighting, with electrical conduits and tubular LED lights specially designed for the project, establishes the height of a conventional ceiling, giving proportion to the space. It was decided to highlight the sole exposed pillar in the shop, revealing its original materiality.

All the furniture was designed to give the store its identity without taking away from the prominence of the flower arrangements but rather emphasizing their colors and compositions. Metal frames with electrostatic white paint, featuring shelves or pin closures, make up all the interior pieces. The main shelves are modular, with a length of 2.25 meters divided into 5 modules. Their shelves vary from 45 cm to the maximum extension, allowing for different levels that can be repositioned depending on the type of arrangement being made.

The store is divided into basically two areas: the display area and the preparation area. A panel with a metal structure and polycarbonate panels separates the two spaces, maintaining visual integration where you can see, in a diffuse manner, silhouettes working on the arrangements and preparations.

The facade was also renovated. Its finish was replaced with metal frames with black electrostatic paint, interwoven with a wire mesh in the same color. The old flower boxes, donated to the neighboring store, were replaced with metal pots in the same finish as the frames and fixed to the base of the frame. Climbing plants were planted in these pots, and with the help of the wire mesh, they climb the wall of the small building, creating a living facade. The vegetation thrives except where a steel disc with the store's name, cut with precision by plasma, is attached. At nightfall, the disc lights up, revealing the name "Trifolium Flower Shop" in light.
